East Patchogue, NY is a village located on the south shore of Long Island in Suffolk County. It has several landmarks, museums and institutions that make it an interesting place to visit.
History
Incorporated in 1910, East Patchogue was known as Fire Place until the late 1800s when its name changed due to increasing traffic on the river by boat. In 1906, there were only 20 houses scattered around Fire Place.
A lot of development happened during this period, resulting in a growth of stores and businesses. The first post office opened here in 1908 and since then it has continued to grow steadily.
Population
As per the 2020 census, East Patchogue had a population of 22,216 people living within its radius of 1 sq mile. The majority belonged toWhite-American (95%) followed by Black/ African American (2%), Hispanic/Latino (2%), other races such as Asian, Native American etc made up for the rest of the population.
Education
East Patchogue contains mostly elementary school education with some private schools for middle and high school education. Francis E Pine Elementary School is one popular school for K to 6 students , Central Islip Public Schools also has 3 highschools providing quality education to young adults residing here.

The town has few hospitals among which one is Southside Hospital which provides all medical support ranging from pediatrics to senior housing care . There are many medical clinics operating here for pediatric care like Long Island Pediatric Dentist or Omni Healthcare providing various services ranging from vaccinations to treating minor ailments like colds or flu.

Yaphank Avenue helps residents commute around the city while Veterans Memorial Highway provides links further off centrally located village centers offering access to all parts of patchogue. The nearest airport ,Long Island MacArthur Airport ,lies nearby allowing easy access outside the NY area as well.
