Ridge, New York is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, United States. 

History

In 1738, northern Ridge was settled by widower Samuel Randall of North Stonington, Connecticut, and his only son Stephen Randall, and his descendants farmed a 4,000-acre plot of ground that Samuel had always referred to as “the Ridge” based on the geographical terrain. First called “Randallville”, Ridge was the name selected by its residents for postal delivery.
